Shopping
Gravenhurst is located approximately 20 minutes from the cottage. Shops includes: At the junction of hwy 11 and Gravenhurst exit- Sobeys, LCBO, and Canadian Tire. Independent Grocers (near Brock and Bethune). Beer Store on Bethune Dr. Turn right at the McDonalds and you are on Bethune. Shoppers Drug Mart on Muskoka Rd South. This is the main street going into the town. Go past the LCBO and Home Hardware. You will find a variety of shops for browsing and a great bakery on Brock Street (main intersection in town).
The Gravenhurst Wharf
The Gravenhurst Wharf is located by taking the main street into town (Muskoka Rd. S.) Turn left onto Bay St. (main intersection at the lights). Follow this a few blocks and it will take you to the wharf. There is a Boston Pizza and a Dock of the Bay Restaurant. The Wharf is the docking location for the Segwun and Wenonah Steamships. They have a number of cruises daily and some include a luncheon and dinner cruise. Most Wednesdays in the summer they have a children’s’ Noah’s Ark cruise with animals and some Sundays have a pirates cruise. The Wharf hosts an excellent Farmers Market every Wednesday from 9 am – 2 pm. Every Wednesday evening in July and August there is a fabulous water ski show directly in front of Boston Pizza. There are world class skiers and the event is free of charge. You can sit on the decks of either restaurant if you are a customer or you may sit on the large dock and can bring a lawn chair. Throughout the summer there are a number of other events and festivals located here.

Other Restaurants
The ‘Oar and Paddle’ located at 530 Muskoka Rd. N. (main street in town).It is very casual and you can make a reservation as it is usually busy. Tel 705-687-8618
